Virtual
Assembly
With Virtual Assembly, large components can be virtually checked for fit before physical assembly – following the principle: “Fit up, before you don’t fit up.”
This method is particularly effective for complex parts such as tender doors, giga-blocks, or large structural sections – components that demand high technical effort during assembly. The digital process ensures greater safety, efficiency, and predictable timelines.
Measurements are taken independently of location – directly during production – with an accuracy of less than 0.1 mm. Using adjustment theory, all components are virtually aligned and assembled with precision.
The outcome is a reliable digital preview of the final positioning, forming the basis for actual assembly. Potential misalignments can be identified early on, helping to prevent costly rework and delays.

SOS Solution: Virtual Installation of Tender Doors for Seamless Design Lines
In this project, the objective was to maintain a continuous design line from the yacht’s hull across the tender doors – with no visible misalignment. Using virtual pre-assembly, the precise hull cut lines were digitally transferred to the detached tender doors. This made it possible to paint the doors in a controlled, land-based environment with maximum quality – free from the spatial limitations onboard.
The result: perfectly aligned installation with no rework required. Time- and resource-intensive alternatives such as moving the yacht, erecting scaffolding, or setting up temporary enclosures were avoided. The project timeline remained intact.
